• William ('Bill,' 'Gumdrop') A Gennrich (merrillfotonews.com) — Whitefish Bay readers may recognize the Gennrich family name, as William “Bill” Gennrich’s surviving step-brother, John Emanuel, lives in Whitefish Bay. Bill, a Merrill native, Army veteran, longtime Sun Prairie High School teacher, and devoted Badgers and Packers fan, passed away peacefully in Arizona on November 26, 2025. His family asks that memorials support a scholarship fund for Merrill High School students.
