  1. The Casper Speedway is once again ready for action following a challenging race season impacted by inclement weather and track lighting issues. A much-anticipated 4th of July race is set to start at 7 p.m., following the opening of gates at 4 p.m., featuring a line-up of cars from various categories, including IMCA Sport Compacts, IMCA Hobby Stocks, and Dwarf cars, amongst others. Spectators can expect an exciting evening, complemented by a spectacular firework display from the Ford Wyoming Center's "Fireworks Festival 2023," all for a general admission fee of $15. (K2 Radio)
  2. Jonathan Castillo, a former Casper halfway house inmate, admitted to a fentanyl-related offense in federal court where he was accused of mailing the drug hidden in a teddy bear to a dealer in Cody. His guilty plea to one count of distribution of over 40 grams of fentanyl resulted in an agreement to dismiss an identical count at his sentencing set for Sep. 15. The consequences of his conviction could range from five to forty years in prison, fines up to $5 million, and a term of incarceration that will be decided upon during his sentencing. (K2 Radio)
  3. A team of four skateboarders, Andy Andras, Paul Kent, Miles Kipper, and Rick Stubblefield, visited Casper during their 3,000-mile relay, named The Push, aiming to set a record for the fastest skateboarding relay across the U.S. The relay, which began in Williamsburg, Virginia and ends in Newport, Oregon, seeks to raise awareness for invisible disabilities. You can follow the team's progress and learn more about the Invisible Disabilities Association (IDA) at push4ida.org or their Instagram handle @thepushskaterelay. (Oil City News)
