Casper College: International Night For Osher Lifelong Learning Institute's And Guests Set

A fun and informative social event has been set for members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, OLLI at Casper College, and their guests Wednesday, March 16 at 6 p.m.

The event, Around the World in 120 Minutes, will “ … celebrate the growing international community in Casper. Participants will learn from students of six countries, including Brazil, Cuba, Kenya, Thailand, Ukraine, and Venezuela,” said Kat Bohr-Buresh, OLLI coordinator.

“In addition to meeting people from other countries, participants will discover unique items and recipes from these cultures. Attendees will enjoy dinner and then listen to short presentations in small groups,” said Bohr-Buresh

The students presenting are members of the English as a Second Language program at the Lee and Felicia Castellow Adult Learning Center at Casper College. The staff from the learning center will facilitate the event.

Around the World in 120 Days is limited to current OLLI members and their guest. To register, call 307-268-3401 by Wednesday, March 9. Tickets are $20, which covers the cost for one OLLI member and their guest. Tickets will not be available at the door. The event begins at 6 p.m. and will take place in the Chapman Lobby located in the Walter H. Nolte Gateway Center on the Casper College campus.

OLLI is a noncredit education program geared toward people over 50, but anyone over 18 can join. Annual membership is $60 and includes five free classes. Membership also includes special events and access to offerings from other Osher Institutes nationwide.
