  1. Flash flooding occurred throughout Casper on Thursday as portions of the region experienced up to three inches of rain. Meteorologists say the flooding was localized to the area that drains Casper Mountain, but several motorists were still left stranded Thursday. The weather pattern is expected to result in a shorter summer than usual for Wyoming, with rain totals in some parts of the state already reaching two to four inches above average for this time of year.   2. Two students from Casper have placed in the Wyoming Center for the Book's Letters About Literature contest. Abigail Fleming claimed second place in the fourth-sixth grade division, and Tamara Cochran took second place in the 9-12 grade division.   3. Mike Rowe, host of the television series Dirty Jobs, will visit the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper on Oct. 26. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. and will include a moderated panel Q&A and audience questions. Tickets will go on sale next Friday, Jun. 23, at 10:00 a.m. (Oil City News)
