• Young: Reorganization/elimination of positions was necessary to fund compensation changes (wyomingnews.com) — Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs is cutting 33 positions and reorganizing 30 more to stop relying on reserves and bring employee pay up to market levels. President Kirk Young told residents the painful reduction in force is aimed at protecting the college’s long-term financial health, with severance, extended insurance, and first-shot access to new positions for affected employees.
   

• Events Complex to Host Mountain West Trails Conference in May (sweetwaternow.com) — Rock Springs will host the Mountain West Trails Conference at the Sweetwater Events Complex May 19-21, 2026, bringing about 400 trail leaders and enthusiasts to town. The gathering will spotlight regional trail development, stewardship, and partnerships, giving Rock Springs a high-profile role in shaping outdoor recreation across eight Mountain West states.
   

• Commissioners to Review BLM RMP Scoping Comments (sweetwaternow.com) — Sweetwater County commissioners will meet Tuesday morning to finalize their scoping comments on the Rock Springs Resource Management Plan, which will shape public land, energy, and recreation decisions for decades. They’ll also consider a new resolution standardizing fees and procedures for public records requests. Residents can attend in Green River or watch via the county’s YouTube stream.
