📰 News we're reading

• Budget issues heat up (sundancetimes.com) — Sundance residents may face another sweltering summer at the library because aging rooftop AC units need replacement and county funds are tight. Commissioners say a $1.8 million budget shortfall and possible state property tax cuts could push the library’s repairs below essential courthouse services, leaving comfort and programming at risk if funding doesn’t come through next year.

• Kid Prints "holding its own" (sundancetimes.com) — Families using Sundance’s city-supported daycare should expect a 10% rate increase for all age groups in January as Kid Prints works to stay financially stable. Board members told the Sundance City Council they’re “holding our own,” thanks to strong community support, but warned that future state decisions and city revenues could affect ongoing assistance.
