Child, 8, Killed In Shooting At Riverchase Galleria: Cops

At least three other victims were hospitalized after a shooting Friday afternoon, police said. No arrests have been made.

HOOVER, AL — An 8-year-old child died in following a shooting at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover Friday afternoon, police said.

At least three others were injured in the shooting.

The incident occurred at around 3:18 p.m. Police said they did not know what led to the shooting, or how many shooters were involved. No arrests have yet been made.

The mall was evacuated in the wake of the incident, and as of 6 p.m. the scene was secure, police said.

Police did not say where in the mall the shooting took place.

Detectives and crime scene investigators are on the scene and gathering more information. An investigation remains underway.
