The 512 cultivates a haven for DIY music (theplainsman.com) — Auburn students have turned a Mary Lane townhouse, dubbed The 512, into a thriving DIY music venue and community hub for locals who feel out of place in more traditional spaces. Run by Auburn University students and bands, the house hosts frequent shows, nurtures the city’s indie scene, and is now seeking a new roommate to help keep Auburn’s grassroots music culture alive.

2. Famed Burger Joint Builds Momentum Despite Closures (inspiremore.com) — Whataburger is permanently closing its downtown Auburn restaurant at 101 N. College Street at 11:59 p.m. on December 15, as part of a small group of closures in Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. Company leaders say the move is meant to refocus resources and fund more than 40 new locations across the Southeast in 2026, while stressing that fewer than one percent of stores are affected.

Auburn Soccer announces 8 additions for 2026 via the transfer portal (soccerwire.com) — Auburn soccer is reloading its roster with eight transfer players set to join the program, most arriving next semester and eligible for spring exhibition matches in Auburn. The newcomers span defenders, midfielders, a forward, and a goalkeeper from major conferences, bringing championship experience and all-conference honors to help replace a large graduating class and strengthen the Tigers for 2026.

4. ADAI donates Christmas trees to military families (wsfa.com) — Auburn University’s Department of Horticulture helped power a statewide fertilizer trial that turned Alabama-grown Christmas trees into holiday gifts for more than 200 Marine families in North Carolina. Funded through a USDA grant and run by the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries, the project aims to modernize Alabama tree farms while spreading seasonal cheer to military communities.
