  1. A 25-year-old was shot and killed on Thursday night. Jonathan Devon Glenn of Birmingham was shot at 2816 29th Place West Apartment A, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. He was discovered on the front porch after a neighbor heard several gunshots. Officials say the death is being investigated as a homicide. (Trussvilletribune)
  2. Officials are describing an ambulance shortage in Jefferson County as a "public health crisis." While the United States is experiencing a widespread shortage of EMTs, Jefferson County's woes are even more so because emergency services are largely privatized. According to emergency services, some parts of Jefferson County may not be able to receive emergency services when 911 is dialed. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
  3. Two boys were rescued from a flooded creek on Thursday night. Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded to a call for help in the 4800 block of Avenue W.
