Good day, neighbors! It's me again, Michael Seale, your host of the Birmingham Daily. Hope all of you are staying dry, I know most of the area got a pretty good soaking yesterday, and will get more today. Hang in there, though. Sunny days are ahead.

  1. So far in 2021, three people have been shot and killed by Birmingham Police officers. After investigations by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the shooting deaths of Eusie Kater in January, Desmon Ray in April and Brian Timothy Dunne in May have been ruled justifiable. (AL.com).
  2. As Hurricane Ida continues to hit the Gulf coast, flash flooding is expected for most of Alabama, including the Birmingham area. Please be safe out there, especially when driving. (Birmingham Patch)
  3. Looking to invest in some rental property? Well, despite the uncertainty caused by the pandemic, a recent study shows that Birmingham is among best cities to buy rental property. (Birmingham Business Journal)
  4. Those of you going to Atlanta this weekend for the Alabama game against Miami should know that the retractable roof of Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be open for the game. As a result, masks will not be required for those in the general seating bowl. (AL.com)
  5. After an ambulance was stolen from Birmingham Fire and Rescue last week, the stolen vehicle has been recovered. (ABC 33/40)
