Here are the top three stories in Birmingham today:
- 30 cars were vandalized at a FedEx facility in Bessemer on Monday. According to Bessemer police, the vehicles were found damaged at 6:00 a.m. in the parking lot. Police believe the crime took place between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. They are looking for a "dark-colored Dodge Charger" in relation to the case. As of Monday afternoon, no arrests have been made. - Hello, little one! The Birmingham Zoo recently introduced Kodo, a 2-year-old Himalayan red panda. Kodo is a transfer from the Buttonwood Park Zoo in New Bedford, Massachusetts. According to officials with the zoo, Kodo is very friendly and loves fruit. Himalayan red pandas are endangered, and are native to high elevation forests in Nepal, central China and northern Myanmar. - One man is dead after a shooting on Monday morning. According to police, the shooting occurred around 7:30 a.m. near Pratt Highway and Heflin Avenue West. The victim had been shot in the driver's seat of his sedan. According to detectives, "some sort of altercation occurred" just before the victim was shot. (AL.com)
