Here are the top three stories in Birmingham today:
- The City of Birmingham is working to finalize a paving contract. The $7 million contract will clean up the city's potholes while fixing a multitude of road issues. The city has a backlog of paving projects that have built up over the years. The contract is the first phase of an investment plan to address the city's road issues. Residents can report road issues by calling 311. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
- WVTM 13 Birmingham is expanding its Sunday morning newscast. Jarvis Robertson, a Birmingham native, will be joining the NBC station as an anchor and reporter. He will be co-anchoring with Magdala Louissaint. Robertson interned with the station during his undergraduate years at UAB. (AL.com)
- The Birmingham Water Works will begin issuing credits to customers that were overcharged. The credits will be issued on November or December billing statements. Customers will not have to contact the utility to receive the credits. The overcharging was due to mass estimation to determine billing. (WBRC)
