  1. Birmingham City Schools are holding a pop-up job fair to hire teachers and custodians. The hiring event at Woodlawn High School is specifically for positions at the school. School principal Rameka Davis said the school is currently looking for three math, three ELA, two special education teachers, and custodians. (WIAT - CBS42.com)
  2. Police have seized $855,000 worth of pot in a Birmingham drug bust on Wednesday. The Narcotics Unit of BPD, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, and the DEA executed a search warrant together and arrested several adults charged with Trafficking Marijuana. Along with the marijuana, police acquired eight firearms. (WBRC)
  3. A 73-year-old man wasrescued from a fire at his Birmingham home and died later at the hospital. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service responded around 8:0o p.m. Thursday in Kingston. His name is being withheld pending notification of his family and the cause of the fire is under investigation (AL.com)

Supplies sought for donation are paper, notebooks, pens, pencils, backpacks, women’s feminine hygiene products, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, and non-perishable food items.
