Airport Traffic Close To Pre-Pandemic Numbers
The Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport reports that traffic is close to levels seen before the coronavirus pandemic.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — Air travel has picked up throughout the country as more people are getting COVID-19 vaccines, and the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport saw traffic in June inching closer to pre-pandemic numbers, according to the Birmingham Business Journal.
BHM reported a total of 213,511 passengers in June, up up 263.2 from the 58,791 reported in June of 2020. Enplanements at the airport in June are at 77 percent of the total in June of 2019.
