- Multiple fire districts, including Pelham Fire in the Birmingham metro, were called to the scene of a large fire at Poppa G's Billiards on Monday morning. According to officials, the fire began around 9:30 a.m. and spread quickly once it reached the attic of the building. No one was injured in the fire. - An 11-year-old is dead after an ATV accident over the weekend. The accident happened in the 4000 block of Sicard Hollow Road in Birmingham. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the child was taken to Children's of Alabama on Sunday and pronounced dead at 12:29 p.m. As of Monday evening, officers are still investigating the circumstances of the child's death. - A synagogue in Birmingham has been marked as a historic Civil Rights Movement site. The Temple Beth El was officially marked as a historic site on Monday, more than 60 years after an attempted bombing at the house of worship. According to officials, the bomb that had been planted at the synagogue failed to detonate due to rain. No one was ever charged for the incident, which targeted Jewish members of the community who had supported equal rights for Black people. (WBRC)
