Here are the top three stories in Birmingham today:

  1. The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute is celebrating 30 years of preserving the movement's legacy. The Institute has been educating the community about the city's role in the pivotal Civil Rights movement. The Institute also conducts research while partnering with the Smithsonian Institution. Over the next 30 years, the Institute plans to strengthen community partnerships. (BirminghamWatch)
  2. Various organizations in Jefferson County have been distributing food in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday. Hundreds of county families received food boxes over the weekend at various events. The food boxes are important during a period of record inflation. Donation details are available here.   3. A Jefferson County resident has been arrested for sexually assaulting multiple women at local retail stores. Michael Wayne Green, 36 years old, "thrusted" his private parts at women while brushing up against them. Police investigators believe there are likely more victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bessemer Police Department. (AL.com)
