Birmingham Men Injured, Charged In Lake Martin Boat Crash

A 20-year-old Birmingham man was hospitalized after his boat crashed into a pier at Lake Martin Sunday night.

ALEXANDER CITY, AL — A boat crash near the Kowaliga Marina at Lake Martin resulted the hospitalization and arrest of two Birmingham men. The crash occurred around 9 p.m. Sunday, according to Alabama News Network.

The driver of the boat, 20-year-old Mason William Goodwin of Birmingham, was charged with boating under the influence and a minor in possession of alcohol. The 19-year-old passenger was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the fourth-degree and minor in possession of alcoholic beverages.

Both were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries.
