The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on February 17, 2022 at 1700 14th Way South West in the Cooper Green Housing Community.

The victim has been identified as Felicia Ford, (49), b/f, of Birmingham, Alabama.

At 3:53 p.m., officers from the West Precinct responded to a call of an altercation occurring at a private residence. Officers arrived on scene and discovered an open apartment door. Upon entering, the victim was observed unresponsive on the kitchen floor suffering multiple gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The preliminary investigation suggests this incident is domestic in nature. The suspect is currently at large. Updates will be provided as this case develops.
