Here are the top three stories in Birmingham today:
- Birmingham Water Works announced it will soon be rolling out newly-designed bills in an effort to address longstanding issues. According to BWW PR manager Rick Jackson, one of the biggest changes will be the listing of all charges on a single bill, rather than multiple bills. The bill's formatting and sizing will also be adjusted to help customers more easily interpret their monthly charges. (AL.com)
- On Friday, Birmingham leaders cut the ribbon on the latest extension of the Red Rock Trail System. The final segment of the Hugh Kaul Trail will connect sections of Avondale, allowing walkers and bikers to safely travel from Railroad Park to the edge of Crestwood. Future expansion plans include an ambitious 36-mile walking and biking loop around the greater Birmingham area. (Alabama NewsCenter)
- The Jefferson County Coroner and Medical Examiner's Office is seeking the public's assistance in locating the family of a deceased Birmingham resident. 48-year-old Robert Wesley Hodge was found dead inside his vehicle on Aug. 18 by Birmingham Police Department officers. Members of Hodge's family or anyone with knowledge of his family are asked to contact the office at 205-930-3603. (WHNT News 19)
