Here are the top three stories today in Birmingham:

  1. Missing 56-year-old Cedric Terry has been identified as the body found in a burned vehicle in a Birmingham Cemetery. West Precinct officers responded to the scene at noon on Jul. 8, where the man's body was discovered. Yesterday afternoon, the Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim. He had been missing since Sunday, Jul. 3 when he left his place of work. No arrests have been made as of Wednesday evening. (AL.com)
  2. Trussville has approved the rebranding of the Trussville Entertainment District. The City Council approved funds and authorized the mayor to sign a services agreement with Clarity Studio. Clarity Studio has worked on destinations such as The Big Chill (Formerly the Hub on 30A) and the Sand Mountain Amphitheater. 3. The people have spoken, and the answer is no. Residents of Chelsea have decided not to approve a $12.5 million property tax to fund a school system. The proposal was a flagship portion of Mayor Picklesimer's last electoral campaign, and he voiced his disappointment in the result. He did, however, accept the decision made by the people of Chelsea and said that he will "partner with the Shelby County Board of Education to make our Chelsea area schools the absolute best they can be."
