- On Tuesday afternoon, a child was struck by a car in Birmingham. The victim was hit around 2:00 p.m. at Charles Street and Hollywood Lane in the Dolomite area. According to Birmingham Fire Rescue Service, the child was transported to Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries. (WBRC)
- Attention job-seekers: The Greater Birmingham area has over 24,000 job openings right now, according to Indeed.com. From internships to full-time employment, companies across Birmingham are looking for new applicants. Companies looking to hire include Bham Now, which is looking for a content producer intern, and Children's of Alabama, which is looking for an MRI tech. (Bham Now)
- In the wake of a water system emergency, the City of Birmingham is currently hosting a water and supplies drive for Jackson, Mississippi residents. The drive is in partnership with Christian Service Mission. Now through Sep. 8, residents can drop off paper products (such as paper towels and toilet paper), bottled water, and cleaning supplies in front of Boutwell Auditorium at 1930 Rev. Abraham Woods Jr. Blvd. Donations are accepted from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Bham Now)
