Here are the top three stories today in Birmingham:

  1. Once you see them coming, it's already too late. FBI officials are warning Alabama residents that cyber crime is on the rise. According to a special agent in charge of the Birmingham field office, Birmingham is "inundated with it." Businesses owners are encouraged to build a relationship with the FBI to better understand what attacks may be coming. (AL.com)
  2. Volunteers from the Birmingham Democratic Socialists of America are offering free brake light repairs. The next brake light clinic will be on Friday, Aug. 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Birmingham. The event is organized to help keep neighbors safe in traffic.   3. The 2022 Taste of Fourth Avenue Jazz Festival is coming up. Musicians performing at the event include Logan the Ent1ertainer, Chelsey Green, The Official Clutch Band, and others.
