Here are the top three stories today in Birmingham:

  1. The City of Birmingham will be receiving federal assistance to improve stormwater drainage systems. The city was one of 20 communities chosen to receive the federal technical assistance grant. The grant is given through the Federal Emergency Management Agency and is not a direct money grant. FEMA will be providing a representative that will help identify projects for the city to apply for grant funding in the future. (BirminghamWatch)
  2. Birmingham's 75th Annual National Veterans Day Parade will take place Friday downtown. The parade will start at 11:00 a.m. and feature the Budweiser Clydesdales. There will be a mixture of Veterans service organizations, school bands, drill teams, color guards, and military supporters participating in the parade. Click for the live broadcast. (Newsaegis)
  3. A Birmingham man has been arrested in connection to a shooting that occurred at a CVS in Homewood last month. According to arresting officers, Brennon Jabree Dinatale was located in the 2900 block of Clairmont Avenue by the United States Marshal's Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force. He has been charged with capital murder and will be transported to the Jefferson County Jail. (WIAT - CBS42.com)
