Here are the top three stories today in Birmingham:

  1. Birmingham On-Demand will be offering rides to polling locations today, Nov. 8. The rides are free to anyone that wants to cast a ballot. The local rideshare service announced Election Day rides at the same time as announcing its plan to expand its service to 19 new neighborhoods. To book a ride, simply use the Via app or call 205-236-0768. (AL.com)
  2. Birmingham's Inglenook Elementary School reports that a paper containing a possible threat to students and teachers was found on Monday morning. The school's parents were notified. The individual responsible for the note will be subject to the district's Code of Conduct. The note is still under investigation. (WBRC)
  3. Birmingham's week has begun with record-warm temperatures. The previous record was broken with Monday's 82-degree weather. Today will feature warm, dry weather with patchy fog. There will also be a total lunar eclipse this morning. Click for this week's weather forecast. (WVTM)
