Lawson State, Miles College Announce Partnership

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Students obtaining an associate's degree at Lawson State Community College will now experience an ease of transfer to obtain a bachelor's degree at Miles College. Both presidents of the institutions announced Tuesday a Memorandum of Understanding signing.

With this new agreement, many opportunities will be available to Lawson State students who wish to continue their studies at Miles College.

After completing 64 transferable hours or obtaining an associate's degree from LSCC, Miles College will provide admissions to Lawson State students and/or alumni who possess at least a GPA of 2.0 in their core curriculum or a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.

All students participating in the Miles College/ Lawson State transfer agreement will have their application fee waived. Also, Miles College and Lawson State academic advisors will collaborate to ensure that all Lawson State students who plan to transfer to Miles College receive ongoing academic advising during their tenure at Lawson State Community College.
