Here are the top three stories in Birmingham today:

  1. Birmingham officials are considering plans to transform Linn Park. The city has held two public meetings designed to present designs to residents with a chance to provide feedback on the plans. The project seeks to make Linn Park a space that all residents can enjoy. Click the following link to view project renderings. (Yellowhammer News)
  2. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Saturday drive-by shooting. The incident occurred in the 1600 block of Fourth Place N.W. in the Center Point Area and resulted in a 13-year-old being wounded. Thankfully, the child's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the department. (AL.com)
  3. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office reports that human remains were found in a freshly-dug grave on Friday. According to the department, the remains were discovered in the 3000 block of Raceway Parkway in Mount Olive around 10:45 a.m. A specially trained cadaver dog was able to indicate the human remains' presence. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office is working to identify the remains. (AL.com)
