- A Birmingham resident is set to participate on the Price is Right. Korliss Datcher will be guessing the prices of various merchandise on the popular CBS game show on today's episode. Birmingham's Avondale Brewing Co. will be hosting a watch party today at 6:00 p.m. (Subscription: AL.com)
- A recent poll of Birmingham's leaders indicates that most believe a recession is on the way. The Power Poll Birmingham survey was sent to 837 local leaders and answered by 141 local leaders. Despite the recession forecast, only 64 percent of the respondents reported a slowdown within their industry in the past three months. (Subscription: The Business Journals)
- A man was rescued from beneath the rubble of a Birmingham home that was being demolished this week. The incident occurred on Monday morning in the 200 block of 54th Street North. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service crews were able to extricate the man within about ten minutes. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. (Subscription: AL.com)
