  1. The City of Birmingham will be collecting food donations for its holiday box distribution program. Donations can be made at Boutwell Auditorium from Nov. 2 through Nov. 4 from 7:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. Donated items must be canned. Please avoid glass containers.   2. Birmingham's Fraternal Order of Police has published a multi-page packet detailing grievances about pay, staffing, and morale at the Birmingham Police Department. Police Chief Scott Thurmond reports that he needs about 900 officers to fully staff the department. There are only about 500 officers currently. Only 350 of those officers are patrolling the city's streets. (WBRC)
  3. The City of Birmingham will be hosting a Magic City Classic Block Party today at Birmingham City Hall. The party will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Stop by to enjoy live music and activities as well as food trucks from vendors including Jolly Cakes, Coco Crabs, and Simone's Kitchen.
