Here are the top three stories today in Birmingham:

  1. Birmingham PD is investigating a homicide that happened early Saturday morning. According to detectives, BPD officers responded to a call at about 1:00 a.m. to the area of 10th Place and 22nd Ave West. There they found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. This is BPD's 65th murder investigation of 2022. (Trussvilletribune)
  2. Several events and a music concert were postponed or canceled after storms rolled through town on Saturday. The Lupe Fiasco concert was pushed back to Sunday night, while canopy piloting, softball, breakdancing, and several other events were canceled outright. The World Games allowed unredeemed tickets for Saturday's affected events to be used for other Sunday events. (AL.com)
  3. The "I Love Birmingham" mural behind the M2 building has been completed. The mural was commissioned by the Freshwater Land Trust as a gift to Birmingham for the World Games.
