Naked Man Shot And Killed In North Birmingham

A man who was reportedly walking around naked in north Birmingham Tuesday was shot when he tried to enter a vehicle.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A 23-year-old Birmingham man was shot and killed Tuesday in north Birmingham. The shooting occurred just after 1 a.m. at 2549 7th Avenue North.

Birmingham police say Marcus Leroy Williams was naked and disoriented when he approached a motorist who was sitting inside of their disabled vehicle awaiting assistance. Williams then opened the motorist’s car door and was shot by the motorist, according to Officer Truman Fitzgerald of the Birmingham Police Department.

Williams was taken to UAB Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Fitzgerald said the motorist remained on the scene and was then taken to the Birmingham Police Department for questioning.
