Here are the top three stories today in Birmingham:

  1. The City of Birmingham has purchased new trash bins. The Birmingham City Council approved the purchase to make trash pickup easier. The new trash bins will be delivered next month. Every household will receive one of the new bins. (WBRC)
  2. Birmingham and Dallas Minuteman Disaster Response units have been dispatched for Hurricane Ian recovery efforts. About 20 volunteers have set up recovery efforts south of Fort Meyers, Florida. The services offered are free and the units will be helping through Oct. 28. (WIAT - CBS42.com)
  3. The Birmingham Police Department is currently searching for two missing men. The searches are separate. Frank Aguilar, 42 years old, went missing on Oct. 11 from a boarding home. Randy Scott, 39 years old, went missing on Oct. 1 while traveling to Tennessee. Anyone with information about the disappearances is asked to contact the Birmingham Police Department. (WBRC)
