Here are the top three stories in Birmingham today:
- One person is dead following a rollover crash on I-59 southbound. Crews were called to the scene at about 2:22 p.m. on Sunday on the highway between Arkadelphia Road and Bush Boulevard. Motorists were diverted for about four hours, and the roads were cleared in the evening. As of Sunday evening, ALDOT had not identified the cause of the rollover. (AL.com)
- A 23-year-old was found dead on Friday afternoon. The man, Reed Anderson Rigsby, lived in Heflin but was in the 4500 block of Sixth Avenue South when the incident occurred. Police found the victim at the scene and he was pronounced dead. As of Sunday evening, there is no word on how the man was killed, but the police are investigating the death as a homicide.(AL.com)
- A house fire on Friday damaged a home on 17th Street South. According to officials, the fire began in the garage and resulted in a total loss of that area, but the rest of the home received smoke damage. Fire officials say that no one was injured in the fire.
