Tarrant City Councilman Uses Racial Slur In Meeting
The Alabama Democratic Party is calling for Tarrant City Council member Tommy Bryant's resignation after his use of the "n-word."
TARRANT, AL — A racial slur used by a Tarrant City Council member during Monday night's meeting has state officials calling for his resignation. Tommy Bryant used the term "house n----r" in the open forum, according to an Alabama Media Group report.
Bryant asked, "Do we have a house n----r in here?" Then reiterated, "Do we? Do we?"

Bryant told al.com that he was merely repeating the term used by Tarrant mayor Wayman Newton to describe City Councilwoman Veronica Freeman.
