Here are the top three stories today in Birmingham:
- On Monday morning, a vehicle and a camper caught fire on I-65, shutting down three lanes of traffic. Birmingham firefighters responded around 11 a.m. and had the flames under control by noon. As of Monday evening, it is unknown if anyone was injured or how the fire started. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
- A 25-year-old Birmingham woman was found dead in an intersection with injuries from a pellet gun on Friday night. Asia Monique Johnson was found on First Avenue North, where she was pronounced dead. Sgt. Monica Law said no suspects are in custody. Johnson leaves behind a 1-year-old daughter. (AL.com)
- Birmingham restaurants and other small businesses are still dealing with supply chain issues. Ted's Restaurant, a Birmingham staple founded in 1973, had to change its signature dish because okra has been unavailable for months. Additionally, materials like biodegradable to-go plates and cups are rare and expensive. (WBRC)
