  1. Two Birmingham men have been indicted with possession of stolen mail and unlawful possession of Postal Service keys. Khory Deontay Lowe, II, 18, and Dejuan Alexander Wallace, 41, both of Birmingham, were reported on Sep. 6. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service, U.S. Secret Service, and the Huntsville Police Department investigated the case. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
  2. Homewood Fire has warned against open flames outside due to the dry, windy conditions in Central Alabama. With warm temperatures, low humidity, and strong winds, brush fires are more likely to happen. There was recently a brush fire off of State Farm Parkway. (WBRC)
  3. A Birmingham police corrections officer has been arrested following an internal investigation. Lavetta Brock, 40, is charged with assault second-degree, and was taken to the Jefferson County Jail. Brock, who has been with the department since July 2021, has been accused of assaulting an inmate. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
