Woman Held Captive For 3 Days In Jefferson County: Sheriff
A 37-year-old man in Adger is accused of holding a woman captive in a home for three days and sexually assaulting her.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A Jefferson County man has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses after being accused of holding a woman captive for three days. Joseph Ryan Byram, 37, was taken in to custody Sunday.
Jefferson County deputies were dispatched to the 5000 block of Mud Creek Road in Adger to investigate reports of a person being held against their will, according to Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson Coiunty Sheriff's Office. Byram gave deputies permission to search his residence, and during the search, deputies located a 39-year-old woman who had been assaulted.
"She advised deputies that she had been held against her will at the residence for the past 3 days," Money said. "The victim was transported to UAB where she is being treated for her injuries."

Byram is charged with rape, assault and unlawful imprisonment. His bonds total $92,000.
