  1. An 18-wheeler caught fire, slowing traffic on I-459NB on Friday morning. The fire occurred at Exit 10: AL150/John Hawkins Pkwy in Hoover around 6:00 a.m. The accident closed the right lane and slowed traffic in the area for a while. (WBRC)
  2. A Hoover fast-food worker offered his juvenile coworker money via CashApp in exchange for sex. Palarius Rodericus Calhoun, 39, is charged with one count of soliciting a minor for prostitution. The investigation began in mid-August when Hoover police were notified by the victim’s mother that her child may have been solicited for sex acts by an adult. (AL.com)
  3. A 34-year-old Locust Fork man was found unresponsive at the Jefferson County Jail on Thursday. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office says Wesley Wayne Moore was found alongside another inmate on the floor of an inmate day space. Staff were able to revive the other inmate using Narcan.
