Here are the top three stories in Hoover today:

  1. The City of Hoover is looking to fill positions to combat its low unemployment stats. The city will be hosting its first job fair in 55 years in an attempt to fill at least 60 jobs. The fair will be held at The Finley Center on Tues., Jun. 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Alabama's News Leader)
  2. Jay Barker, former University of Alabama quarterback from Hoover, is currently on probation for reckless endangerment involving his wife. According to court documents, Barker attempted to run over two people leaving a party but missed. He is scheduled for a hearing on May 11, 2023, according to records. (AL.com)
  3. Celebrations are scheduled across Alabama for Juneteenth. Hoover-AHEAD will hold its second annual celebration from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sat., Jun. 18, at Veterans Park. The event will feature free family fun and education, live performances, food trucks, and children's activities. (AL.com)
