Here are the top three stories today in Hoover:

1. Early Monday morning, a shooting occurred outside of an AMC movie theater in Vestavia Hills, just minutes away from Hoover. Officers responded to a call of shots fired around 1:00 a.m. Police said one person was taken in custody and is being held in jail pending formal charges. (WVTM 13)
2. The flooding from Labor Day weekend may continue today and tomorrow. Showers should be a little fewer in number and more scattered in nature. Despite the mix of sun and clouds, weather authorities cannot rule out more flooding issues by the end of the week. (ABC 3340)
3. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department is investigating a shooting Sunday night that injured one person nearby in Center Point. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the Corner Food Mart on Polly Reed Road and 1st Street Northeast. Deputies are trying to locate the victim, who they believe was shot in the leg. (WVTM 13)
