Arrest Made In Hoover Circle K Robbery
A suspect is in custody after stealing more than 80 cartons of cigarettes in a two-day period from the Circle K on John Hawkins Parkway.

HOOVER, AL — Police have made an arrest in the July 6-7 robbery of the Circle K convenience store on John Hawkins Parkway in Hoover. Gwendolyn Braswell, 43, was arrested Thursday and transferred to Jefferson County Jail.
Hoover police said the first theft occurred July 6 at 6:24 a.m., when the Braswell reportedly entered the store and immediately walked to a back stock room. She placed 50 cartons of cigarettes into a plastic bag and walked out of the store.
On July 7, police say she returned to the same store at 5:15 a.m. and went to the stock room where she placed more than 30 cartons of cigarettes into a plastic bag. When the store clerk confronted her, she pulled out a stun-gun and threatened him.

The clerk attempted to prevent the female suspect from leaving the store, but was overpowered by a male accomplice, Hoover police said. Both suspects fled the scene in a black SUV. Hoover Police officers stopped the vehicle July 8 in the 2300 block of John Hawkins Parkway and arrested the female suspect.
