- A federal judge sentenced John Lance Cameron to 188 on Tuesday for committing bank robberies that took place across Alabama. Cameron was arrested last December in Hoover after robbing the BBCA Compass Bank on Montgomery Highway on Nov. 25. U.S. Attorney Escalona thanked the combined efforts of the Hoover, Trussville, and Birmingham Police Departments for their assistance in this case. (WAFF)
- Have you made plans for this weekend? Here are five upcoming open houses for you to check out. Four of the homes will open their doors to interested buyers at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7 while the other house will open at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6. - Hoover hit AL.com's top five Alabama suburbs. The list, which features 25 different suburbs around the state, tops off with Homewood. Hoover was also preceded by Madison, Vestavia Hills, and Indian Springs Village. Three of the top five communities were in Shelby County, while two were located in Jefferson County.
