- Looking to get some hot chicken around town? AL.com put together a list of the best hot chicken in the Birmingham Metro. The top of the list? Hoover's own Eugene's Hot Chicken. - The Hoove City Council held a work session on Thursday. The agenda included resolutions authorizing agreements between the city and Alabama Power Company, among others. The council also scheduled public hearings for upcoming resolutions. Hearings will be held on Aug. 1 and Aug. 15. Click the link to see the topics for those hearings. (Hoover Alabama Government)
- Full Moon Bar-B-Que's Backpack Blessings initiative has begun, and people are invited to help out. Full Moon Bar-B-Que is looking to double their previous year's total of 50 to 100 backpacks given out to kids in Alabama and Mississippi.
