- Hoover is on pace to see more people utilize Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority buses in 2022 than in 2021. In 2021, 17,791 people used the bus system, while 8,914 have used it through the first six months of 2022. Looking toward the future, Hoover Mayor Frank Brocato said the city has to rethink how to handle public transportation because the region is relying on an old model used by multiple generations. - There are a lot of open houses taking place this weekend in and around Hoover. If you're in the market for a new home, head to 2508 Blackridge Cove at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday to view a beautiful four-bedroom, five-bathroom home for $1,590,000. Then on Sunday, head to South Oak Drive to tour a $300,000 home at 2:00 p.m. (Patch)
- On Thursday, The Leadership Hoover organization welcomed 34 people into its sixth class. Among the new class are people from a variety of fields and industries, including education, government, law, hospitality, health care, religion, advertising, financial services, real estate, nonprofits, and utilities. The organization's goal is to gather a group of leaders and emerging leaders who are interested in expanding their leadership skills, deepening their sense of civic responsibility, becoming more involved in helping the community, and learning about Hoover’s issues and needs. Congratulations to all the new members! (Hoover Sun)
