Circle K Cigarette Robbery: 2nd Suspect Sought By Hoover Police

One arrest has already been made in two robberies at a Hoover Circle K convenience store, a theft more than 80 cartons of cigarettes.

HOOVER, AL — A man police say was an accomplice in two robberies at a Circle K convenience store is being sought by Hoover police. The robberies, which involved the theft of mpre than 80 cartons of cigarettes, occurred July 6-7.

Police arrested 43-year-old Gwendolyn Braswell in the case already, charging her with robbery and theft of property.

Hoover police said the first theft occurred July 6 at 6:24 a.m., when the Braswell reportedly entered the store and immediately walked to a back stock room. She placed 50 cartons of cigarettes into a plastic bag and walked out of the store.

On July 7, police say she returned to the same store at 5:15 a.m. and went to the stock room where she placed more than 30 cartons of cigarettes into a plastic bag. When the store clerk confronted her, she pulled out a stun-gun and threatened him.

The clerk attempted to prevent the female suspect from leaving the store, but was overpowered by a male accomplice, Hoover police said.
