- The City of Hoover is hiring for a new position and seeking qualified candidates. If you are a master electrician (or know one), the City of Hoover would love to speak with you about the role. There are other positions available as well in a variety of fields, including full-time positions as a Custodian, Detention Officer, and Firefighter. (City of Hoover via Facebook)
- On Tuesday night, the Hoover School Board voted on a recommendation to seek federal court approval to rezone school attendance areas in western Hoover. The proposal would be to rezone the planned Everlee community so that it would be part of South Shades Crest Elementary and Brock's Gap Intermediate school zones. The long-term plan is to have both these schools cater to children from kindergarten through fifth grade. Everlee has not been built, but has 249 homes planned for the area. (Hoover Sun via Facebook)
- The Hoover Police Department is warning residents of a new scam. People are receiving emails that claim to be from companies recruiting hired shoppers or secret Santas. Individuals who respond to the email survey will receive a fake check and be asked to purchase gift cards with their own money and send them to the company. By the time they learn the check has bounced, they've already been scammed. Stay smart and stay safe! (Hoover (AL) Police Department via Facebook)
