- Scholarships, career training, and more are available to kids through a partnership with a program known as RC3. The Riverchase Career Connection Center, a career training facility, has opened its doors to Hoover and neighboring communities. The center focuses on culinary arts, cyber innovation, fire science, health sciences, and skilled trades. (thehomewoodstar.com)
- Homewood is considering bringing a city manager or administrator into their government. According to Mayor Patrick McClusky, whose campaign platform included the addition of a city manager or administrator, the position includes keeping a "finger on the pulse of everything every single day." As part of the shift, Mayor McClusky has asked administrators from neighboring cities to speak to the city council about their roles within their respective city governments. (thehomewoodstar.com)
- "Saint Jane" remembered. A week after the Vestavia Church shooting, parishioners at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church took a moment to keep Jane Pounds in their thoughts. The 84-year-old was a Hoover resident and described as an "incredible servant" and a big fan of Alabama football. Her family also spoke about her steadfast faith and how important it was to her.
