- Hoover native Sonny DiChiara became Auburn baseball's third ever consensus All-American. The "Thicc King," as he's been fondly named, joins White Sox great Frank Thomas and former No. 1 overall draft pick Casey Mize. This comes after DiChiara and the Auburn Tigers advanced to the College World Series for the second time in three postseasons. (AL.com)

- The City of Hoover congratulated Ole Miss on their national championship in NCAA baseball. The Rebels were also crowned champions at the SEC tournament held in Hoover earlier this year. (City of Hoover via Facebook)
