Fire At Hoover Apartment Leads To Arrest
A man has been charged with attempted arson after a fire at a Hoover apartment complex Aug. 29.
HOOVER, AL — A man has been arrested and charged with attempted arson after a fire Aug. 29 at a Hoover apartment complex. The fire occurred at the 900 building of The Park at Hoover apartment complex.
Hoover police said witness reported seeing a man and woman arguing outside of an apartment. The woman reportedly left the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
A Jefferson County deputy was first to arrive and attempted to make contact with the male at his residence. When the man answered the door, smoke was observed coming from the apartment, police said.

The man, identified as 21-year-old Thien Teddy Huynh, was detained and a second deputy entered the apartment and extinguished a small fire that was burning on the floor.
Fire investigators from the Hoover Police Department and the Hoover Fire Department responded to the scene and determined that the fire was intentionally set by Huynh, who was initially transported to UAB Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and was transferred to the Jefferson County Jail upon his release.
