Former Spain Park QB Braxton Barker Joins Saban's Staff At Bama
After briefly entering the transfer portal, former Spain Park star Braxton Barker will remain in Tuscaloosa as a graduate assistant.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Former Spain park High School quarterback and University of Alabama walk-on Braxton Barker will stay in Tuscaloosa this fall as a member of Nick Saban's coaching staff. Barker, who entered the transfer portal after the 2021 season, has been named a graduate assistant for the Tide.
Barker, the son of Crimson Tide legend Jay Barker, was redshirted his freshman year in 2018 and saw limited playing time during his Alabama career, seeing action only in 2021 against New Mexico State.
Barker served as a backup to All-American quarterbacks Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa and Bryce Young — all of whom were Heisman Trophy finalists and were named SEC Offensive Player of he Year at some point in their careers in Tuscaloosa.
