Hoover Community Shred Day: What To Know
The City of Hoover will host another Hoover Community Shred Day for residents to safely dispose of documents in their homes.
HOOVER, AL — The City of Hoover Friday will host a Hoover Community Shred Day for residents to safely and securely dispose of unwanted documents in their homes.
The even takes place in the Hoover Public Library parking lot from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is open to residents, not businesses, according to city officials.
The Hoover Police Department urges the people of Hoover to participate, and not just for cleaning purposes.

"Identity theft is a preventable crime," the Hoover PD said in a statement. "Don’t make it easy for criminals to get their hands on your personal information. Shredding your paper documents is a great way reduce the chances of becoming victim. The Hoover Shred Day is a wonderful way to not only get rid of some clutter, but it also helps in the fight against identity theft-related crimes."
